Validity of the Visa

For US citizen, maximum visa validity is 10 years. The Period of stay for each visit is maximum up to 6 (SIX) months from the date of entry. Regular Tourist Visa is generally issued with multiple entry endorsements. The validity of the Regular Tourist Visa start from the visa issuance date and NOT from the date of entry into India.

For people whose previous nationality was Indian

If your previous nationality was Indian, you are required to renounce your Indian citizenship. If you have already done so, you are required to submit the Renunciation Certificate or the Canceled Passport. If you have not renounced your Indian citizenship, you are required to apply to renounce your Indian Citizenship along with your visa application.
